We Take Green Steps Towards the Future with Awareness of Our Responsibilities
As the Emergency Medicine Association of Turkiye, we are aware of our responsibilities regarding environmental sensitivity and sustainability. We believe that our greatest duty is to leave a healthy world for future generations. As a leading institution in the sharing of scientific knowledge, we aim to be a pioneer not only in the field of Emergency Medicine but also in environmental awareness.
Our Sustainability Vision:
The challenges caused by global environmental changes make minimizing our carbon footprint a necessity. In this regard, we have made it our mission to use our resources efficiently, adopt the principles of recycling and reuse, and work towards a better tomorrow by protecting the environment.
Your Participation Matters: Let's Act Together for Sustainability
We believe that environmental sustainability can only be achieved through the collective efforts of individuals and institutions. We are promoting eco-friendly practices at our congress and invite you to join us in this process. Each participant's contribution will support us in reducing our carbon footprint and enhancing sustainability.
Our Sustainability Actions:
- Zero Waste Policy: During the congress, we aim to minimize not only material consumption but also waste generation. We support the recycling process by creating waste separation points in the event areas
- Use of Renewable Energy Sources: We promote the use of renewable energy in event venues whenever possible. We collaborate with venue owners to encourage the use of eco-friendly energy sources, such as solar energy, for lighting and electricity consumption.
- Eco-Friendly Catering: During the event, environmentally friendly and locally sourced products will be preferred for food and beverages. Offering local, organic, and seasonal foods is a significant step in reducing the carbon footprint associated with food production.
- Energy Efficiency in the Congress Venue: We aim to enhance energy efficiency in the event venues by using low-energy lighting, sensor-controlled lights, and energy-saving devices.
- Green Printing: We pay attention to ensuring that our printed materials are produced using environmentally friendly processes.
- Reuse: We promote the reuse of fabrics, carpets, and decorative materials whenever possible.
- Reducing Consumption: We are reducing plastic usage and overall material consumption. Throughout the congress, we aim to minimize the consumption of printed materials by opting for digital resources.
Support for the Zero Waste Project by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change:
As the Emergency Medicine Association of Türkiye, we are pleased to announce our support for the Zero Waste Project implemented by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and our collaboration on this project. As part of our congress, a ministry official will participate in the panel on "Emergency Medicine, the Future of Health, and Climate Change" and will share details about the project with our participants.

- Let's Use Reusable Products: You can bring your own reusable water bottles to use with the water dispensers.
- Let's Prefer Eco-Friendly Transportation: If possible, you can carpool with others to reach the congress center or suggest for environmentally friendly transportation methods like public transit.
- Let's Be Mindful During Our Stay: You can prioritize sustainability in areas such as electricity and water consumption, as well as the use of towels and sheets.
- Let's Prevent Food Waste: By taking only what you need during meals and breaks, you can implement conscious consumption and minimize food waste.
- Information and Sharing: We can create awareness by sharing our thoughts on sustainability with each other and others.
