The competition is organized to develop essential skills in emergency medicine and to showcase talents in a fun, competitive environment. In emergency medicine, simulation offers a safe space to experience complex cases and the need for quick decision-making, just as in real life. This is why simulation is an indispensable learning tool for healthcare professionals to enhance their skills and respond quickly and accurately to critical situations. The Simulation Competition aims to give participants the joy of both competition and enjoyment while practicing these vital skills.
This event provides an exciting platform where participants can showcase their talents in various simulation scenarios, supported by training sessions on orientation and adaptation. As emergency medicine physicians refine their skills in managing complex cases, the audience can also follow along with enthusiasm and learn from the process. The competition is crucial for developing critical decision-making skills and stress management capabilities. This competition will be held with the unconditional support of SimX Turkey Distributor Uğur Sağlık Teknolojileri.

Who Can Participate?

General Rules
- Applications for the competition can be submitted between October 30, 2024, and November 13, 2024.
- Teams must apply by filling out the registration form.
- Each team should consist of 2 members.
- Team members must be from the same clinic.
- Only emergency medicine residency students are eligible to participate.
- Each clinic may enter only one team. If there are multiple applications, the timing of the application will be considered.
- A maximum of 20 teams will be included in the competition.
- If more than 20 applications are received, the first 20 teams based on application time will be selected.
- Team members should wear similar attire (e.g., t-shirts, scrubs, custom designs).
- Teams selected to participate will be announced on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
- The preliminary rounds will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, in Hall 6.
- After the preliminary rounds, 8 successful teams will proceed to the elimination rounds.
- The 8 teams will compete in a single-elimination format.
- Matchups for the elimination rounds will be determined by a draw conducted by the competition moderators.
- The final match will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Innovem Zone.
- Competitors will receive notifications and updates via email or phone as provided on the registration form.
- All participants are considered to have accepted all rules by entering.
- Competition moderators reserve the right to amend the rules.

Orientation and Adaptation Period
On Friday, November 15, 2024, competitors will receive an orientation session on the devices and simulations before the competition. Each team will have the opportunity to test the devices and familiarize themselves with the setup during scheduled time slots. While these orientation sessions can provide a competitive advantage, attendance is not mandatory.
Throughout the competition, orientation support will also be available to competitors within the simulation environment.
Who Can Participate?
- Competitors must be emergency medicine residency students.
- Each competitor may participate in only one team, and each team must consist of two members.
- Each clinic can participate with a maximum of one team.
- Team members must be from the same clinic.
Judging and Evaluation
Faruk Danış, Emre Kudu, and Mümin Murat Yazıcı will serve as the jury members for the preliminary, quarterfinal, and semifinal rounds.
The jury for the final round will be announced at a later date.
The competition will be evaluated based on criteria set in advance by the moderators for each simulation.
Jury members will make their decisions by thoroughly assessing each team's clinical and non-clinical skills.

Teams that perform successfully in the competition will receive the following prizes:
- First Place Prize:
- Registration and accommodation for the TATD EACEM 2025 Congress (for each team member).
- 1-Year SimX Usage License (for the clinic of the team members).
- Second Place Prize:
- Registration and accommodation for the TATD Course Days 2025 Congress (for each team member).
- 6-Month SimX Usage License (for the clinic of the team members).
- Audience Prize: A raffle will be held among the audience members of the final match, with one Apple AirPods awarded to the winner.
