Aim
Emergency Medicine Association of Turkey (EMAT) aims to break new ground in the field of Emergency Medicine; by using information technologies with the information technologies design event in Emergency Medicine "EMATHON", which aims to bring together EM residents, specialists, and informatics professionals working in the field of Emergency Medicine.
EM@THON event aims to develop project ideas in a limited time to accelerate and increase the accuracy of triage, patient management, diagnosis, treatment, and decision processes in emergency medicine.

Log in via eacem.org and complete your application by: 23.10.2025
- Deadline 16.11.2025 – 23:59
- The application form should be filled by all participants(All participants should register to the EACEM congress). The non-medical team members that support the team online don’t require to register the whole congress. They are required to fill the EM@THON application form, with stating their team name and remote participation)
- The individual participants can build their own team in the opening of EM@THON

Project presentations to jury |
- Each team will be form of 2-6 members.
- The selected topic will be defined in the EM@THON opening session
- After completing the 30-hour marathon at the congress, all teams will have the chance to present their projects in front of the jury members and participants
- The teams will present their projects in 5-minute. The session and presentations will be in English

Each team will be form of 2-6 members.
Each team will have at least one EM specialist or EM Resident.
The teams are encouraged to have at least one member of non-medical discipline such as data scientist, computer engineer, informatician etc(This team member can support the team online, filling the application form by this member is required). Thus the members of the team improves their collaboration skills on building project about technology in medicine

- What should I do to participate in EM@THON?
Register through the EACEM website(https://www.eacem.org/en/emathon.html). Complete your registration process with the email you receive.
- Will the teams be in one hall throughout the congress? Will we miss the other sessions in the congress?
No, after the introducing session, teams can work freely anywhere and anytime😊The EM@THON hall will be open for teams to gather and work until the presentations. You are supposed to attend only EM@THON's short seminars (15-20 mins) in the EM@THON Hall. This is mandatory to advance your project idea.

- Can we use ChatGPT?
Yes 😊, No need for previous Programming knowledge, you can use large language models provided you mention them in your presentation.
- Is presenting in English mandatory?
Yes, The jury involves national and international members. Teams can also get support regarding presenting in English😊
- Is it necessary to know programming?
No 😊, the aim at EM@THON is not to measure the level of knowledge in information technologies but to present solutions that information technologies can offer for problems in emergency medicine. To get the multidisciplinary workshop experience, the teams are encouraged to have a member of non-medical discipline such as data scientist, computer engineer, informatician etc…Thus the members of the team improves their collaboration skills on building project about technology in medicine.
- I have a team; can we participate together?
Yes, you can join with your team, but each participant needs to fill out the registration form and register.
- I don't have a project; can I still participate?
Yes, individual participants can build teams, generate new project ideas, and develop solutions together.
- Can non-medical information technology participants support our team online?
Yes😊 This team member can support the team online, filling the application form by this member is required. No need to register the whole congress.
- Can faculty members participate?
Yes😊
- What is the aim of this event?
The aim of this event is to create networking, enhance technology knowledge among emergency physicians, bring out a technology based solution to problems/process in Emergency Medicine in a limited time(30 hours) while multidisciplinary networking experience. So you can enjoy the congress, use your time effectively with your team while building your project idea in 30 hours until the session you present your idea in 5 min to jury.
- What will be the evaluation criterias?
The ideas will be presented to EM@THON Jury who are emergency medicine and medical informatics professionals. The projects will be evaluated regarding its contribution to emergency medicine, technical competency, innovation, compatibility to practice.
