Points and Rules to be Considered During Paper Uploading

Abstracts should be submitted online using the abstract system via the website in English for the 10th Eurasian Emergency Medicine Congress (EACEM) and in Turkish for the 20th Turkish Emergency Medicine Congress (TATKON). If you want your abstract to be included as Full Text in the abstract book to be published after the congress, you can make the necessary addition from the Full Text tab in the system with your abstract. Your Full Text should not exceed 1,200 words, including References. Abstracts sent via e-mail and postal mail independently from the system will not be accepted. Since the abstracts sent via the internet will be published in the same way if accepted, attention should be paid to spelling errors.

The presenting author who submits a paper to the congress must have completed the congress registration process by 17:00 on Wednesday, 30 October 2024, at the latest. Papers that are not registered or not presented at the congress within the specified time period will not be published in the congress book.

Spelling Rules

  • Abstracts and full papers will be collected via online submission system.
  • Academic titles should not be used in author names.
  • Names should be written in lower case with only the first letter capitalised.
  • The names and addresses of the institutions where the authors work must be indicated.
  • Only the first letter of the title should be capitalised. (Abbreviations are exceptions.)
  • If abbreviations are used in the text, the full name of the abbreviation should be given in brackets.
  • The aim of the study and the methods used should be briefly stated in the text, the findings should be summarised with sufficient numerical detail and the conclusion should be explained within the framework of the findings presented.
  • Except for case presentations; the text should be written using the titles of aim, method, findings and conclusion.
  • In the aim section, encyclopaedic information about the subject of the study should be avoided, which gap in the literature the study fills, why it is planned, and the main purpose of the study should be briefly stated. For case presentations, you are expected to state the features of your case that are worthy of presentation.
  • Participants decide the language of the paper according to the congress category (TATKON or EACEM) they choose while uploading the paper. If the national congress category is selected, the participant uploads the paper to the system in Turkish and presents it in Turkish at the congress. Papers uploaded by selecting the international category are uploaded to the system in English and presented in English at the congress.
  • The entire text should not exceed 600 words, excluding the title, author's name and surname.
  • "The same paper cannot be submitted to both national and international sections of the congress"
  • ONLY one table and one picture can be included in the text.

Abstracts that do not comply with any of these items will be excluded from the evaluation regardless of their content.

Evaluation of Papers

The evaluation will be made over the internet by at least two referees from the Paper Evaluation Committee, keeping the names/surnames and institutions of the researchers confidential (blind evaluation). As a result of the evaluations made by the referees, scoring will take place and acceptance will be notified. In order for your paper to be included in the abstract book to be published after the congress, at least one of the authors of the paper must complete the congress registration until 30 October 2024 at the latest. The evaluation result will be sent to all paper owners by e-mail as a result letter.

Oral Presentation Information

  • Papers accepted as oral presentations can be prepared with any of the electronic presentation programmes.
  • The time allocated for each presentation will be indicated in the acceptance letters.
  • Although the abstract is accepted, the works of the authors who do not present their papers on the day and time specified during the congress will be removed from the congress proceedings book.
