Özlem Tekşam

Özlem Tekşam, MD, PhD graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency training at Hacettepe University. She completed Neonatology Fellowship training and received a certificate of expertise in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the same institution. She worked as a visiting staff in the Pediatric Emergency Department at The Hospital for Sick Kids. She also received a PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Toxicology at Hacettepe University.
Since 2015, she has worked as a Professor of Pediatrics at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Department of Pediatrics. Her specific areas of research and study are triage in hospitals, injury prevention, POCUS, trauma, and toxicology. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Turkish National Pediatric Society and Vice President of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care Society in Türkiye. Currently, she is working as the Communication Leader of the Special Interest Group in the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Branch (EUSEP) of the European Society of Emergency Medicine (EUSEM). She completed in International Pediatric Association (IPA) Strategic Advisory Committee on Children in Humanitarian Emergencies as Co-Chair.
