Gillian Schmitz, MD, FACEP is a Professor at the Uniformed Services University and the Vice Chair of Education at the Navy Medical Center in San Diego, California. She served as a Board member and Past President of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), representing 40,000 physicians nationwide.
Dr. Schmitz obtained her medical degree from the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine and completed her emergency medicine residency at the University of North Carolina.
She has had an extensive academic career and has practiced emergency medicine across the country. She brings over 20 years of clinical experience in urban, rural, military, and academic practice settings. She is a nationally recognized researcher, speaker, and educator.
