Effie Polyzogopoulou

Effie Polyzogopoulou, is the Chair of the Ultrasound Section at the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EUSEM), Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
She is the Course Director/co-Director and faculty in EUSEM Emergency Ultrasound pre-courses and the founder and Director of the National Emergency Ultrasound Courses for many years.
She is the Training Program Director of the Emergency Medicine Supraspecialty at Attikon University Hospital, in Athens, Greece.
She is Examiner in the European Board Examination in Emergency Medicine (EBEEM)and member of the Emergency Medicine Examination Reference Group for Europe (EMERGE).
She is the Country Lead for Greece in the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EUSEM) Research Network.
She was a member of the Acute Heart Failure Committee of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC)- Heart Failure Association (HFA) (2020-2024).
She has a special interest in Emergency Medicine Education and Ultrasonography. Her current research work and scientific interest are focused on Emergency Ultrasonography/Echocardiography, Acute Heart Failure and Cardiogenic Shock.
