I was born in Gaziantep in 1969. I completed my primary, secondary and high school education in Gaziantep. I started Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1987.
I graduated from the same faculty in 1994.
I started as a research assistant at Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine in 1994. During my assistantship, I worked as a rotational assistant at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine.
I became an Emergency Medicine Specialist with the specialty exam I took in 1999. Then, I started working as a lecturer at Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine. During my time working, I served as a founding faculty member of Erciyes University Paramedic Program and taught courses in this program.
I started as a lecturer at Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine, Emergency Department in 2000 with a transfer.
In 2002, I became an Assistant Professor and served as a founding faculty member at the Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine. I also became the Head of the Department.
In 2004, I worked as an observer physician at Suny Downstate Medical Center, Kings County Hospital and Bellevue Hospital Center in New York, USA, to increase my knowledge and skills. In 2005, I became the deputy chief physician at Gaziantep University Sahinbey Research Hospital. I held this position until 2008. In the same year, I served as the founder of the Gaziantep University Paramedic Program.
In 2006, I became an associate professor of emergency medicine and in 2011, I became a professor of emergency medicine. In 2009, I started teaching English courses in the English Medicine program opened at the Faculty of Medicine. I am currently teaching courses related to emergency medicine in the English program of the Faculty of Medicine.
In 2018, I served as a founding faculty member at the Gaziantep University Health Sciences Institute, Department of Clinical Toxicology and became the Head of the Department.
In 2019, I became the internship program manager of the medical school. At the same time, I became the President of the Health Board in November 2021.
I was a member of the Board of Directors of the Emergency Medicine Specialists Association since 2004. I continued this duty for 10 years. I served as the President of the Qualification Board within the same association.
Also in 2004, I became the Editor-in-Chief of the Academic Emergency Medicine Journal. I served as the Editor-in-Chief for 10 years. During this time, I published 45 journals. Approximately 30 of these journals were published in English and entered international indexes. Again, the application of "DOI (Digital Object Identifier)) in scientific articles in our country was initiated by me for the first time during this period.
In 2009, the Emergency Medicine Case Presentations journal was published by me. This journal is the Case Presentations journal that started its publication life in the country. I was responsible for the Trauma and Resuscitation course in Southeastern Anatolia between 2000-2010 for 10 years.
In 2011, on behalf of the Emergency Medicine Association, I presented what needs to be done to prevent violence in healthcare to the TBMM Healthcare Prevention Commission. This report was included in the Healthcare Prevention Parliamentary Commission. Throughout my academic career, I have participated in many congresses, symposiums, courses and panels as a coordinator and speaker. I have many publications in the field of emergency medicine, especially on 'Emergency service management, Clinical Toxicology, Bedside
In 2011, I became a founding member of the Gaziantep-based 'Academic Thought and Research Association' and served as its president for 7 years.
During this period, I organized 1 national Symposium (Symposium for Revitalizing Our Educational Life) under the responsibility of the association. I also organized many panels, meetings and conference programs regarding the social problems of the country and the region.
Since 2014, I have been a member of the Qualification Board and a member of the Toxicology Working Group under the responsibility of the Turkish Emergency Medicine Association.
In 2011, I was elected as the President of the Ministry of Health Medical Specialization Board (TUK) Emergency Medicine Specialization Board (TUKMOS) by a vote of all emergency medicine specialists across the country. I held this position for 5 years. During this time, I was instrumental in the preparation of the first Core Education Program (CEP). The same CEP is still in use.
I am currently a faculty member at Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine. I am the Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine, Head of the Department of Clinical Toxicology, Coordinator of the Faculty of Medicine intern internship program and President of the Health Board.
I am married. I have 3 children (2 girls and 1 boy).
